Daniel Duprey Obituary

Duprey, Dr. Daniel John EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. Dr. Daniel John Duprey, 60 of East Stroudsburg, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2018. He was the loving husband of Mary Jo (Licchio) Duprey with whom he had celebrated 29 years of marriage. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Clarence William and Kathleen (Slocum) Duprey. Daniel was a resident of the East Stroudsburg area for the past 25 years. Daniel was a very accomplished physician. He practiced internal medicine for twenty-nine years. He was licensed to practice medicine in Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey. He earned many awards for his work, including certifications in advanced cardiac life support and advanced trauma life support. Above all, Daniel loved helping those in need whether they be patients or cherished family and friends. Daniel also served for many years as the vice president of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Transplant Support Group. Daniel graduated from medical school at the State University of New York at Syracuse. He earned a bachelor's degree as part of Epsilon Sigma Pi from Manhattan College. Daniel enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was an extraordinarily devoted husband and father. In his spare time, he enjoyed running and playing chess. He was a committed environmentalist who spent many hours appreciating pristine natural sites. Daniel will be sorely missed by all of us fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him. In addition to his wife, Mary Jo, he is survived by a son, Matthew Daniel Duprey of Brooklyn and a daughter, Sara Angela Duprey of East Stroudsburg. He is also survived by his siblings, Cheryl Duprey of Rensselaer, John Duprey and his wife, Colleen, of Watervliet, Richard Duprey of East Greenbush, and Sandra Bulson and her husband, Jeffry of Hopewell Junction, N.Y. Dear Sandy, Cheryl , Richard and John,

I just learned of your brother's passing. I hadn't seen him in years , so I was so sorry to learn about his health struggles. He was always a special person, committed 100% to whatever he did. His sweet wife, children and you have all lost someone special way too soon. My heart goes out to you.

So sorry and saddened by the early loss of my friend. Thankful for the opportunity we had to spend time together in Saratoga this past summer, the first time in many years. He was a good and caring man - cared about his family, patients and friends. He will be sorely missed and I pray that he rests in peace with God.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any mans death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.
