Bill was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in the Battle of the Bulge and in the European Theater. Bill had worked at the former Behr-Manning Co. Bill was also an avid sports fan and enthusiast, always following and rooting for his favorite team, the St. Louis Cardinals. Survivors include his beloved sister-in-law, Mrs. Katherine "Kay" Benoit of W. Pawlet, Vt.; and beloved friend, Margaret "Peggy" Dugan of Latham; and dear friends, Madelyn "Midge" Day, Rose Mary "Rose" Cosgrove, Harvey and Marion Dickson and Kathleen and Jack Sanvidge, all of Speigletown, Alice Burke of Latham, Helen Rasmussen and Mary Shanahan, both of Brunswick; his cousin, Donald Lambert of Brunswick; his niece, Carol O'Connell of Clifton Park; also survived by 21 additional nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews who affectionately called him, Uncle Bill. Bill was the brother-in-law of Mary Powanda of Watervliet, Eva Smith and Helen Smith, both of Troy, and the late Stephen, John, Michael, Peter, William, Alex and Ann Hoblock and Julia Beecher. Funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 9:15 from the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., (corner of 115th Street and Fourth Avenue), Lansingburgh, thence to St. Bonaventure's Church, 50 Hillview Drive in Speigletown, where at 10:00 a.m. the Mass of Christian Burial will be con-celebrated by the Rev. George P. Fleming, pastor of St. Bonaventure's Church, Rev. James D. O'Neill, founding pastor of St. Bonaventure's Church and Rev. Stephen Cordes, pastor, Faith Lutheran Church, in Speigletown. To the family of Bill,
Please let me express my deepest sympathies on the passing of Bill. Several months back, I contacted Bill regarding his parents who were the initial owners/builders of our home on Euclid Terrace off Mountain View Ave. back in the 20's, who then sold to my grandparents in the 60's and now my wife and I own the home (2003). Bill mailed me a photo of his parents, then days later he phoned me. I had never met him but I thoroughly enjoyed our conversation. He gave me many details about our home, what a very pleasant man he was. Rest Peacefully.

Uncle Bill,

We'll miss you, especially those trips to Maine, and the phone calls for puzzle answers. We're glad you're at pease at last.
