Mary Vanderwarker was my kindergarten teacher in the early 1980s. I had arrived in Bangladesh and did not know English. She was very dedicated and instilled in me a love of learning. I still remember the book about whales and the book about planets I read in her class 40 years later.
My family moved to the west coast and I've spent my life in science and tech. I've never forgotten Mrs. Vanderwarker.

Dear Art and Family
Reading Mary's obituary brought back many memories. Growing up an South Maning Blvd. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are being sent with Love. Life is short and knowing Jesus Christ had made my life so very meaningful. His promise of eternal life with him (Jesus) has given true meaning and direction for my life. My prayer is that you and yours may also experience this relationship with your Creator. Because He lives I can face tomorrow.
