James Mysliwiec Obituary

Mysliwiec, James Sr. PLEASANTDALE James W. Mysliwiec Sr., age 67, of Pleasantdale, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, November 30, 2011. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late William and Winifred Mysliwiec. James was a man of many trades including 30 years of service at Allied Automotive Bendix (Honeywell Corp.), and more than 40 years as the caretaker of Clifton Park Village Cemetery. He also spent 50 years as a hardwood floor refinisher, a trade he learned from his father. He was a sportsman who indulged in hunting, fishing, bowling (300 game!), and darts. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Lansingburgh, served as a past member of the Pleasantdale Fire Department, and was a scout leader. James lived a humble life; he worked hard to support his family and never refused anyone who asked for his help. He will be missed by the many lives he had touched. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Janice (Sitterly) Mysliwiec; children, James (Theresa) Mysliwiec Jr., Tina (Mark) Hondro, Scott (Chrissy) Mysliwiec, and Randy (Mai) Mysliwiec. He is also survived by grandchildren, Ashley, Anne, Jacqueline, James III, Cassandra, Breanna, Jacob, Felicia, Sarah-Helen, and Travis. Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Rt. 9, Clifton Park, with a service at noon. Burial will be in Clifton Park Village Cemetery. The family would like to thank the Community Hospice of Rensselaer County for all of their courteous and compassionate care in his final days. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1893, Memphis, TN 38101-9950, or the Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144.
