Richard Tatro Obituary

Tatro, Richard "Dick" CLIFTON PARK Richard "Dick" Tatro, 82, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Saratoga Hospital with his loving family by his side. Dick was born on July 18, 1931 in Mechanicville, the son of the late Edward J. and Corinne Gallopini Tatro. He was a 1956 graduate of Siena College where he received his B.S. in physics. Dick was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Korean War. Dick was a communicant of St. Edward the Confessor Church in Clifton Park. Dick was the co-founder of Micro Networks in Worcester, Mass., and retired after 30 years as an electronic engineer. When he retired he was vice president of engineering; he previously worked for four years at IBM, and nine years at Sprauge Electric. Lastly, for the past five years at the Home Depot. Dick enjoyed his weekly golf outings with his friends. In addition to his parents, Dick was predeceased by his two sisters, Helene Tetrault and Dorothy Greenough. Survivors include his loving wife, Joan L.Tatro; his loving children, Christopher D. (Laura Turner) Tatro, Sally Ann Davis-Taylor of Clifton Park, Kevin J. (Phyllis) Tatro of Woodbridge, Conn., Betsy (Scott) Clinger of Sunrise, Fla., and Scott M. (Maria) Tatro of Los Angeles; one brother, Edward J. Tatro Jr. of Ballston Spa; 10 grandchildren, one great- grandchild, and also several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on April 23, 2014 at 10 a.m. at St. Edward the Confessor Church. A calling hour will proceed the Mass beginning at 9 a.m. Burial with military honors will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. Memorial contributions may be made in Dick's memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Attention Memorial/Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, Clifton Park.

I started my career as an engineer in 1975, right after Micro Networks finished the new Clark St. facility and was there until we moved out in 2010. I still work for the company that Dick co-founded and have great memories and respect for him and what he accomplished.
