To Robin, Brooke, Shelby and the entire Jenkins family--
I will always remember JJ with a huge smile across his face. As Joe wrote earlier, a true "Virginia gentleman." When I read that, it really hit the nail on the head. He will always be remembered and thought of with love and admiration by all who had the pleasure of knowing him (even for a brief moment). May you all find the strength you need to make it through this sad time. Love to all of you.

We were deeply saddened to hear of JJ's passing. His positive attitude was unshakable...
The first time I met JJ was at the 1986 UVa/Tech game in Blacksburg. He and (I believe) Clary and McCllelan were sitting about 6 rows down from me in the student section and were getting pelted with ice most of the game. Yet, I don't think I ever heard him complain about "Hokie Fans" in general, as would have been his right after what they put him through.
He was one of a kind and will be sorely missed. May God give you, and your families, strength during this time of terrible sadness.

JJ was a true Virginia Gentleman and hero. We will miss him. I didn't get to see much of him after he moved to Fla. My last memory of him was UVA at Auburn..He was smiling (as always) ear to ear.

I have nothing but positive lasting memories of my times with Jeff.
UVA-Tech football games... with great tailgate parties. All the wonderful times at 81st Street... playing volleyball and soaking up the sun. Friday nights at Towne Point Park in Norfolk.
My lasting memory, however, is his kindness, gentleness and friendship. He was a very special person and I am grateful for the time I spent with him on this Earth.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Brooke, Shelby and all the Jenkins family.

I was deeply saddened to hear about Jeff. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the girls during this difficult time.
My first memory of Jeff is when he worked at the Citizen's Trust Bank at ODU and he always had a smile on his face. But I'll always remember Jeff running down Norfolk Ave., or running in the Neptune festival and always stopping by our house with you and Brooke every Halloween.

I only met Jeff two or three times and could tell that he enjoyed being around family and was very outgoing. I did not realize that he was involved with so many organizations until I read his obituary.

I knew Jeff going all the way back to Frank W. Cox High School as well as having lived in the same Va. Beach rental house when we were single. We were both in the Va. Beach Jaycees as well as part of the vast "singles scene" which was a big part of our lives at the time. We stll managed to keep in touch after our single days were over making efforts to meet up at holidays and such. The good times were far too numerous to even begin mentioning going all the way back to high school. I'll remember Jeff always as one of the most fun loving and popular guys I have ever known as well as being a great house mate and friend. I only wish the best for his family.

Mercifully, I have the conviction that we will all eventually be reunited in The Lord's Kingdom. And I am blessed to have countless joyous memories shared together with J.J. including: Cox H.S., the yellow Trans-Am, Forbes, car-pooling to Cox, the beach, Senior Prom, tackle football, cruising, beach volleyball, Frisbee golf, the Jenkin's home and family, Jemimah, the Five Point gang, shooting pool, Van Halen, Balz dorm, O-Hill, Fraternity Rush, Delta Upsilon, Goat chores, road trips, U-Hall, pumping iron, Newcomb Hall, raquetball, Scott Stadium, The Swamp, The Roof, Easters, The Brother Examiner, Duck House East, Duck Xing, ACC tournament, Mardi Gras, Peach Bowls, The Wounded Duck Golf Tournaments, & UVA Reunion. Jeff's wonderful spirit and friendship will remain with me always.
