Hello, a voice from long long ago- my parents, Hugh and Joanne Baker, were amongst Charlie and Jackie Stratmann's greatest friends and were a part of a circle of people dating back to Naples , Italy in the mid- Sixties- including the Shreves, Martins and Ranns . Later, they all lived in Florida or nearby and participated in each other's lives for decades- so far as I am aware, only Capt Stratmann and my father, 92 next Sunday and housebound in Leyburn, North Yorkshire, England are still alive.
Jackie was elegant, infectiously enthusiastic and the sort of parent other people's children always seemed to warm to- that is certainly my memory of over 50 years ago ! She was a steadfastly loyal friend to my reserved, rather serious mother in particular, boosted her social confidence and helped her enjoy life. I can hear Jackie's voice and laugh as I write this even though it has been many years since we last met ( my mother died in 1995 and my father came to England, where I live, that same year ).
My deepest condolences to Capt. Stratmann and Chuck and Eric in particular

My fondest childhood memories were spent with my Grandmother, Jackie Stratmann. She always opened up her home and ensured fun was had by all. Dinner parties, endless laughs, exotic birds, dogs at the feet of my bed, flank steak, incredible desserts, and long days in the sun at the beach house, my time with Grandma Stratmann was truly all the fun a young man could ask for. She certainly made us feel special. We miss you Grandma and will never forget you. With love, your Grandson, James.

I had some of the best memories of my life with Aunt Jackie. She was always "patient" enough to put up with us crazy 20 year olds while we spent time fishing with Uncle Charlie. I am going to miss hearing "Oh Charlie". She was an extraordinary woman. I am truly going to miss her.
