I was saddened to hear that Mr. Gandy passed, my prayers and thoughts go out to his family, especially his children and grandchildren. I worked for Mr. Gandy from 1979 to 1988, all very good years, I spoke often to his children and to his wife, and met several family members, JEA was one big happy family. I will always remember his jovial personality, he loved his family dearly and he loved people, one of the best bosses ever to work for JEA, fair, honest, one of the very best. He and Lillian shared Lillian's cross stitch as gifts to Sue and I on special occassions. The beautiful plants, so much good, from such a wonderful person/family. God bless you as you continue to enjoy good memories of your father, grandfather, family member. I will always cherish his kindness, his mentoring, and his kind authority and leadership. God be with you all.

It is well said in the following quote “Immortality lies not in the things you leave behind, but in the people your life has touched.” Bernard Gandy was my supervisor, my friend and my mentor at JEA. He definitely touched my life and I will never forget him. He was my hero.
Some people come into this life and leave quietly. However, others enter this life and touch the hearts of everyone around them. They leave their mark upon everyone they have met during their lifetime. Mr. Gandy was without a doubt one of the special people that his family and friends shall never forget as a kind, warm and loving human being. My wife and I feel blessed to have had an opportunity to know, love, and to have been Mr. Gandy's friends. We, along with his family and friends, celebrate Bernard Gandy's life.

Becky, Bernie & Terry--my condolences on behalf of my entire familly. Your Dad (and Mom) were wonderful friends and neighbors to my parents many years ago and also so very kind to all of us neighborhood kids. Although I was able to attend your mother's service, I have a conflict at the time set aside for your father and will not be able to see any of you this time. I have said a prayer for each of you. Your friend, former classmate and neighbor--Nancy Fussell Loznicka

Bill was the best neighbor - always had helpful info to share, whether growing roses or getting the roof repaired. He was particularly helpful when we had one of our numerous JEA power outages: he knew just who to call. The "Saints of Isabel" will miss him and can only hope that another gardener moves into his house.

Bernie was like a Father to me for many years. He was my Father's best friend & in 1979 for Mother's Day my Mother wanted a hedge planted in the front of the house. Bernie sat my Mother in a lawn chair in the driveway as he planted the hedge. My Mother had breast cancer & that was her last Mother's Day. Everytime I visited, the hedge was there to remind me. Our thoughts & prayers are with you. I am so saddened to hear of your loss. He was a great man!
