Gini has been in my thoughts since the 1st of March, when I made a note on my calendar that her birthday was March 31st. And this week I sent her a card and made a note to myself so I would remember to call her today. Dear Gini, I did not know that you would be spending your birthday in heaven today... I will always treasure my memories of you and the time we spent together in Antigo. To Wayne and your family, my sincerest sympathy. God bless you all.

What in the world happened? ...so rapidly did you decline and leave us--- from vibrant and dancing in the halls, to declining and departing in less than three short weeks.Your passing was way too soon. I did all I knew to do from afar. I hope to get to know you when I "cross over" and join you and those "dearly departed" on the other side. Although I did not have the pleasure of enjoying your company in person, I am sure you will be missed by many of those outside your family.

I remember Gini as an excellent student and a wonderfully warm, compassionate, and skilled counseling colleague with a quick infectious smile. Her passing is a loss for all of us who had the privilege to know her.

So sorry to hear. I had several interactions with Wayne Wood, who lived just up the street from me while I was in J-Ville (2003-2007), on his tours as well as from his emails which, among other things, alert the neighborhood when it is 'chimney swift' watching season in Riverside. I never met Gini, but anyone who was close to Dr. Wood is a loss to mourn-- and with him, I'm sure she contributed much to the Riverside neighborhood and the Jacksonville community. My sympathy to the family-- I hope your love for each other and support from the community will provide solace in your loss.
