Dear Carolyn: John and I were so sad to hear of Ken's passing. You and his family are in our thoughts and prayers. Ken was the most wonderful man, so kind and loving. He will be sorely missed by all of his friends and family. He will be remembered for his generous, entertaining and giving personality. We know that you are comforted by knowing that he is now with God, and telling his stories in Heaven. Love to all of you.

Ken Barnett was the greatest. He would drive his youngest son, Kelly, with me (Art Small), Randy Withers, and Stewart Mayer to school for three years. Four days a week. We called it the "Barnett-mobile". Such happy times. He was a fine man. The world is less happy with him gone.

When two become one they embark on an adventure that rivals most. When one is lost the emptiness can seem overwhelming. You're living through what is said to be the most stressful situation a person can endure. You've lost a part of yourself. Remember though, just a part. You can hold on, life will find healing, not today or tomorrow, and maybe not for a long time. But the healing will come. Psalm 27: 5 assures you, "For he will hide me in his shelter on the day of calamity; He will conceal me in the secret place of his tent; high on a rock he will place me". Stay in that place of concealment as long as you need to. Those who truly love you will stay at your side.
