Robert E. "Bob" Ashman, 82, of Upper Nazareth Township, died Saturday, Nov. 30, in the Muhlenberg Campus of Lehigh Valley Hospital, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Francine M. (Meyers) Ashman, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage on May 29.
Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late George W. Sr. and Ruth V. (Valentiner) Ashman. He was a 1968 graduate of East Stroudsburg State College. He taught eighth, ninth and 10th grade math at the Wallenpaupack Junior and Senior High School for one semester, followed by 27 years as a math instructor at Northampton County Area Community College, Bethlehem, prior to retiring in 1995.In 2001, he volunteered as an AARP tax aid at both Bath and Freemansburg.
Bob enjoyed working on his cars, as well as dancing and listening to Polka music.
He previously attended St. John Episcopal Church, Palmerton.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife, Francine, are a daughter, Deborah Ashman of Allentown; a brother, George W. Ashman of Palmerton; and cousins.
