Eugene KANAVEL Obituary

KANAVEL Eugene W. Eugene W. Kanavel, age 69, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2011, in Templeton, CA after a long bout with cirrhosis. Born in Toledo, OH, on July 29, 1942, Gene was a resident of Temperance, MI and a graduate of Bedford High School, before leaving to serve in the USAF. He was honorably discharged in 1964 and took up residence in Morro Bay, CA and Astoria, OR, working as a commercial fisherman. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Esther Kanavel. Gene is survived by his daughter, Lisa Marie Stormont of Wasilla, AK; his son, Nick Martinelli of Hawaii; three grandsons, Charlie Stormont, John Stormont, and Ian Stormont of Wasilla, AK, and nine brothers and sisters, Carla Bierman, Walter Kanavel, Hendrik Kanavel, Tamara Wilkinson, Mari Fedele, Patrick Kanavel, Laura Kanavel, Keith Kanavel and Meeghan Kanavel. A memorial service will be held at a time and place presently undetermined. The family requests that any memorial contributions be given to the Salvation Army.

The Gonzalez family sends their condolences to the Kanavel family. We have so many good memories growing up and the two families going on picnics and to Wamplers Lake. The boys especially did a lot together and consider the family close friends. People may die, but the memories last forever.
