Marty Grebb was a talented multi-instrumentalist who was a member of the Chicago pop rock band The Buckinghams from 1966 until 1968. Before the Buckinghams there was the Exceptions with Kal David, Pete Cetera, and Kal David, and Freddy the Drummer. Met them on South Side of Chicago. I went to see the Beatles on the South Side with Marty. 12/25/21 and I just found out he passed away. I'm so sorry but know he's playing music on the other side. He was a wonderful soul,

I miss sharing with Marty on Wednesday nights in Shokan. He was a very deep compassionate soul, who loved his family and friends. It was so sad to see him go through his illness. Bless you Marty.

As an impressionable twelve year old back in 1966, the Buckinghams were my favorite band. I started to follow them whenever they were on television and also listened to their music on the radio. In fact, my very first album that I had was Time and Charges that I received on my 13th birthday in 1967. I am saddened by the passing of Marty. We've lost a valuable and very loved musician that, personally speaking, made such a positive effect the music world.

Marty was one of the good guys..I remember as a teen and in my first serious band, he and the Exceptions got us into a studio for the first time so we could record a demo for a contest we entered..I will remember that kindness till the day I die...My sincere condolences to April, Bob, and his cousin Pete..We lost a good one!

I met Marty at a Costco in Westlake Village CA a few years ago while we were both killing time and looking at the Yamaha piano display...he sat down and started playing a few notes....I was very impressed and we struck up a short conversation where he introduced himself, and had a great talk. I didn't know "who" he was at the time, but knew that he was incredibly talented. I would always look for Marty when I went back to Costco, thinking that he must live locally. I never had the chance to reconnect with him,...but I always thought about him, his music talent, and our short friendship. My sincere condolences to Marty's family and friends on his passing. Rest in peace Marty! You may be gone, but you are not forgotten.

My deepest condolences to the Grebb family in the loss of Marty Grebb. The Grebb, both his father as my piano/organ teacher in their Bridgeport School of Music as well as Marty himself, who was always nice enough to encourage me with my musical lessons when he stopped into the school to see his Dad.
Marty, your place in the music industry and that which you played enhanced my culture and interest is music and the Grebb family as musicians opened my mind and soul to the beauty of music for which I will be forever in your debt.
Thank you.
