Richard "Dick"

Richard "Dick" Miller, 55 years old, died on January 11, 2014, in Wayne County, MI. Dick is the son of Francis and Mary Pat Miller. He attended St. Thomas Moore High School, Milwaukee, WI and played basketball for the University of Toledo for four years, as a power forward. Dick graduated from the University of Toledo in 1980. He was a member of the US Pan American Team in 1979. He played professional basketball for the Indiana Pacers and the Utah Jazz. Also, he played in the CBA in Alaska and Montana. He also played in the European League in Valladolid, Spain, Granollers, Spain and Hamel Hamsted, England. Dick was inducted into the UT Athletic Hall of Fame.

Dick worked numerous jobs in the auto related industry in the Detroit area. Most recently he was self-employed and living in South Africa.

Dick is survived by his daughters, Andrea and Ashley (mother, Karen), Maumee, OH. He is survived by Lois and two stepchildren, Kristin and Matthew, Miami, FL. Dick is also survived by his parents, Francis and Mary Pat of Milwaukee; eight siblings, Chuck (Marcia), Texas, Thomas (Patti), Milwaukee, Timothy (Late Susan), Milwaukee, Mary (Terry) Lavin, Milwaukee, Gerard (Susan), Milwaukee, Joseph, Kansas City, Anne, Mountain View, CA, and Michael, Milwaukee. Also surviving are eleven nieces and nephews.

A private service was held in the Detroit area. A family memorial is planned in Milwaukee, WI at a future date. A memorial mass is scheduled for Saturday, January 18, 2014 at St. Joseph Church, Maumee, at 10 a.m.
