My wife and I lived a few doors away from Steve in Trenton, NJ. I would always know when Steve was outside because the odor of his cheap vanilla wood-tipped cigars would tell me. As much as I tried to school him in the subtlety and nuance of chooosing fine tobacco, he would just stare at me in confusion (and defiance) of my attempts at guidance. My wife loved the smell of his cigars, not so much the smell itself, but the reminder that Stave is outside. That' meant that everything was OK. I miss that horrible oder. We miss Steve.

Dear Stephenie, Hanna, and Olivia,
I am a dear friend of Sherri Savran and met your father through Sherri. He was a very special person, and I still think of him often. His wit, sense of humor, and kindness are what he miss most.
All of you are in my thoughts and prayers.

What a super guy Steve was/is. As his landlord, we became friends very easily--he was also the all-time best tenant. His humor, straight forward style, and bubbly personality will be sorely missed. RIP my friend.

I met your dad through Sherri and Alex, and I considered Steve a new friend of mine. He was so entertaining with his wonderful sense of humor and his positive outlook on life. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
