Elizabeth I. Bindis

Elizabeth Irene Bindis, 79, of Hecla, died Saturday, April 30, 2011, in Excela Health Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. Miss Bindis was born June 15, 1931, in Acme, a daughter of the late Andrew A. and Elizabeth C. Soltis Bindis. Betty was a lifelong member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed by the former Robertshaw Controls Co. as a blueprint operator. She, like her sister Rose Ann, loved spending time in her vegetable garden, sharing the fruits of their labor with everyone. Elizabeth is survived by her cousins, John and Florence Dzuban, of Norvelt, Verna Vockel, Elizabeth Bindis and John and Jean Bindis, all of Mt. Pleasant. In addition to her parents, who died one month apart in 1997, Betty was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Rose Ann Bindis, in January 2009. May they all rest in peace, together again. Family and friends will be received from 10 until 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the GALONE-CARUSO FUNERAL HOME, 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant. At that time a blessing service will take place, followed by her funeral Mass at noon in Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Dennis A.
