J. Ochs Obituary

J. Mark Ochs, 73, of New Bethlehem, died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2002, at 6:52 a.m. in St. Francis Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born Jan. 3, 1929, in Lucinda, a son of the late William J. and Alice (Neuland) Ochs. Mr. Ochs was an owner of Red Bank Mills in New Bethlehem and Reed Milling in Brookville. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council 8538, both in New Bethlehem. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Elizabeth ``Betty' Carroll Ochs; three sons, Wayne and his wife, Jane, of Erie, Rex and his wife, Beth, of Lakeside Park, Ky., and Stanley and his wife, Cathy, of Milford, Ohio; two daughters, Lois Hilliard and her husband, Kevin, of Greensburg and Carol Ochs of New Bethlehem; nine grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Cyril (Mauricia) Steiner of Lucinda, Alice Ochs of Lucinda and Mrs. Sam (Bertha) Lander of Tionesta; and a brother, Henry C. Ochs of Lucinda. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ochs; and four brothers, Regis, William, Albinus and Cornelius Ochs. Friends will be received at the CHARLES D. ALCORN FUNERAL HOME, Hawthorn, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. in St. Charles Catholic Church, New Bethlehem, with the Rev. William Laska as celebrant. Interment, St. Charles Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Charles Catholic Church Building Fund, New Bethlehem, PA 16242.
