Marie Bongianino Obituary

Marie M. Bongianino, 89, of Blairsville, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, at Latrobe Area Hospital. She was born June 26, 1915, in Slickville, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Valero. She was a member of SS. Simon and Jude Church in Blairsville and the Penn View Chapter of the National Campers Association. She and her husband were owners of the Bongianino Bakery Co. of Blairsville. She is survived by her daughter, Angeline Guirior and her husband, Manuel, of Yorba Linda, Calif.; two sons, Robert D. Bongianino and wife, Judy, and Domenic J. Bongianino Jr. and wife, Marlene, all of Blairsville; a brother, Carl Valero, of Slickville; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Domenic J. Bongianino, in 1985; a daughter, Carol J. Williams; and a sister, Lucy Valero. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JAMES F. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 25 W. Market St., Blairsville, where a wake service will be held Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in SS. Simon and Jude Church, Slickville, with Fr. Chester J. Raimer officiating. Interment will be in SS. Simon and Jude Cemetery, Blairsville.
