Clyde V. Houdyschell, 86, formerly of Charleroi and Monongahela, died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005, in The Washington Hospital. He was born April 18, 1919, in Allenport, a son of the late Forrest and Bessie Miller Houdyschell. He was Protestant by faith and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Houdyschell was formerly employed by U.S. Steel Corp. in Donora and Homestead. Surviving are one brother, Jon David Houdyschell, of Niagara Falls, Canada; and one sister, Lorraine Godla, of Surprise, Ariz. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Freda Unteed; and one brother, Forrest Houdyschell Jr. Friends will be received in the CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME, 819 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, on Thursday, Dec. 22, from 9 to 10 a.m., the hour of service in the funeral home with the Rev. Bruce Northey officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Coal Center.
