Frank Zencuch Obituary

Frank P. Zencuch Sr., 79, of Charleroi, died Monday, Oct. 7, 2002, in Southwestern Veterans Center, Pittsburgh. He was born Feb. 25, 1923, in Creighton, a son of the late Joseph and Mary Dubinsky Zencuch. He was a retired Master Chief Petty Officer of the U.S. Coast Guard, having served during World War II. Mr. Zencuch was a member of VFW Post 167 and American Legion Post 22, both of Charleroi. He is survived by his wife, Isabelle Mastronicola Zencuch; a son, Frank P. Zencuch Jr. and wife Kathi of Naples, Fla.; one daughter, Lois Payne and husband Dennis of Pittsburgh; three sisters, Helen Raybits of Lower Burrell, and Pauline Chupka and Elizabeth Zencuch, both of Tarentum; five grandchildren, Jason and Adam Zencuch, Donald Payne, Colleen Lane and Melanie Payne; and three great-grandchildren, Jacquelyn and Kaitlyn Zencuch and Richard Jenkins Lane III. In addition to his parents, Mr. Zencuch was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Joseph, Stephen and George Zencuch; and two sisters, Ann and Dorothy Zencuch. Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the SCHROCK-HOGAN FUNERAL HOME INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 12, in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the Belle Vernon Cemetery with full military honors. The VFW will conduct services Friday at 7:30 p.m., and the American Legion, at 8 p.m. Friends are invited to sign the on-line guest book at www.valleyindependent.com.
