Ralph L. "Fritz" McClain, 80, of Brackenridge, passed away Monday, Feb. 15, 2021, at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights, following a lengthy illness, with his family by his side. He was born July 13, 1940, in Harrison Township, to the late Ralph R. and Betty (Luh) McClain. Fritz lived most of his life in Brackenridge and Natrona Heights, where he was the owner/operator of the Saxon Inn, Restaurant and Bar in Natrona Heights for 45 years. He was of the Presbyterian faith and a life member of Citizens Hose, Natrona Heights and former member of Tarentum Elks. Fritz graduated from New Kensington High School and was an avid Steelers fan. Fritz enjoyed spending time with his family and especially enjoyed being with his children and grandchildren. Fritz loved and enjoyed his many customers who were also his friends. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Kathy (Vertosick) McClain; his daughters, Lisa (Bill) Hall, of Wampum, Pa., Michelle (Adam) Gutonski, of Natrona Heights, and Josie McClain; five grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Also surviving are his siblings, Jerry McClain, Karen Ostroski, Linda Ostroski, Connie Matsik and Judy Ruemmler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepfather, Lou Ostroski; and a stepmother, Eleanor (Schaeffer)McClain.
