James E. Couts

1950 - 2016

James E. Couts, 66, of Lower Burrell, died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016, at Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot. He was born Aug. 7, 1950, in Newcomerstown, Ohio. He was the son of the late James V. and Lorna (Angle) Couts. He was the husband of 22 years of Christina M. (DiBerardine) Couts, of Lower Burrell. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Kevin Couts. Mr. Couts worked for the railroad for many years. He enjoyed Arrowhead hunting and collecting, fishing, hunting, gardening, watching Pittsburgh sports and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Christina M. (DiBerardine) Couts, of 22 years, of Lower Burrell; three sons, Tom (Lori) Couts, Stephen (Chelsea) Zemba and Matthew (Jessi) Zemba; a daughter, Shannon (Bud) Gribble; three brothers, Dave, Curt and Gerald Couts; two sisters, Caroline Tipple and Kerry Addy; five grandchildren, Amber, Austin and his wife, Kelsey, Lane, Ali and Ashley and her husband, James; two great-grandchildren, Kaden and Isabelle; and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 until time of funeral Liturgy outside Mass at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the GIUNTA-BERTUCCI FUNERAL HOME INC., 1509 Fifth Ave., Arnold, JohnPaul Bertucci, owner-supervisor. Burial will be private.
