JOHN SANDSTROM Obituary

John O Sandstrom John passed away peacefully after a short illness on December 30, 2014 in Tacoma, Washington. John was born on September 14, 1933 in Finland and moved to the Tacoma area in the 1970's, where he worked for Puget Sound Plywood for many years. John is survived by two sisters and several nieces and nephews in Finland, and one cousin, Martha Cederberg, in Tacoma, Washington. John also left behind Suzanne Edwards, his longtime companion and best friend. John loved to work in his flower gardens and his yard. He also enjoyed helping other neighbors with their yards and lawns. John loved animals, especially cats. John also loved to spend time at his home on Lake Sammamish, which reminded him of where he grew up. A memorial service will be held in honor of John at the Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Tacoma, Washington on January 24, 2015 at 1pm. If you wish, donations can be made in remembrance of John to your favorite charity.

John leaves many friends in his neighborhood, the North Slope Historic District, where he visited daily with folks as they walked by him working in his yard. John's love of animals, especially cats and dogs, and his enjoyment of growing things left all he met with a feeling that there is good in this world, and John shows how to nurture it. We miss him, but will not forget to care for living things, both plants and animals, in his memory. Thanks, John.
