Alam Wirk M.D.

WIRK M.D., Alam, age 70, of Beavercreek, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2017. He was born in Pakistan on May 6, 1947 to Allah Ditta and Saleema Wirk. Dr. Wirk attended Rabwah College and King Edward Medical University where he earned his Medical Degree. He then came to the United States in 1972 for his medical training. Dr. Wirk completed a radiology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. He practiced medicine at Greene Memorial Hospital and served as the Chairman of Radiology. Dr. Wirk was Chief of Staff at Greene Memorial Hospital from 1990-1992. He co-founded an ambulatory imaging center in Beavercreek, Open MRI. Alam enjoyed spending his time golfing, playing tennis, and throwing the dice. He is survived by his daughter, Sarah J. (Darren R. Philips) Wirk; son, Shaheen (Stefanie Marsh) Wirk; grandchildren, Robert S. Philips, Salima Frances Wirk, and Banyan Sebastian Wirk; sisters, Amatul Qadeer Ahmad and Amatul Naseer Ahmad; and brother, Azam Wirk. The family will greet friends from 1:00-4:00pm on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Rd., Kettering. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, December 4, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Shoup Cemetery.
