Alfred Charles Klacman, 73, of Houston, Texas went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 5, 2016. He was born on December 27, 1942 in Wharton, Texas to William Ignaus Klacman and Edna Tracy (Janus) Klacman. He is a current member of St. Bernadette's Catholic Church in Houston, Texas. He enjoyed fishing, golf and tending to his rose garden. He was proud to be "Grandpa" to Jerrod and James and enjoyed taking them fishing and to shoot guns. This loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend will be missed. He was a manager for Lockheed Martin for 42 years before his retirement in 2010. In addition to his parents, Alfred is preceded in death by his brothers, Robert "Bob" Klacman and William "Bill" Klacman. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Margaret (Harper) Klacman, daughter, Kris Mechelay and husband, Jim; grandsons, Jerrod and James Mechelay; sister, Doris Johnson and husband Wayne; sisters-in-law, Rebecca "Becky" Klacman and Winona Klacman; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. A graveside service will be held on October 11, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wharton Cemetery in Wharton, TX with Fr. John Kollannur officiating. Uncle Alfred, you were the kindest person I've known. When I was a child, I was always so delighted to see you. I loved it when you, Aunt Margaret and Krissy would come to Grandmother and Grampa's for Thanksgiving or Christmas. It was so exciting to all be together. I miss you dearly. I hope you are happy in heaven. You've seen the face of our Lord. I'm hoping you and my Dad are hanging out. God bless your family.

Al was a joy to work with in the '70's in our Ford Aerospace "warehouse" days where most of the Mission Control Equipment was built. He was always positive and fun to be around. I am sorry to hear of his loss and offer my sincere condolences to his family.

Alfred was a very good uncle to me. He made me know there is a Santa Clause when I was a small child. "Santa" left a letter for me, thanking me for the milk, cookies and a vitamin that I left for him. As an adult, I noticed that the precious note I received from Santa looked suspiciously like my Uncle Alfred's handwriting. May you rest in peace, where the roses always needs care and the greens are always waiting for you.
