Allen Hermeier was an intern at First Lutheran in Fergus Falls,MN while I was in high school. He and his wife were wonderful to us,! We could drop by their home at any time, ask them questions and they encouraged open inquiry. It was in the Spirit of God.

Helen, you are in my prayers. Allen was the spiritual director of my Cursillo weekend. I have never forgotten his profound wisdom and had always cherished his friendship which we renewed at Gene & Ruby's anniversary celebration. You have lost a treasured friend and husband. May God comfort you.

Pastor Hermeier was such an amazing pastor. He was kind, inspiring, fair and tough when needed. He confirmed me and truly instilled the core of faith that continues to sustain me today. The Hermeier's were such a wonderful part of Northwood while they were here. Pastor Allen is with his Father for whom he so wonderfully shared his gifts of God.

Dear Helen and family,
I have so many fond memories of Allen and all of the Hermeier/Carlsborg gatherings. Allen's stories were always so inspirational. He and Mom were cousins, but more like siblings and now they are reunited again. May God Bless you and your family, today, tomorrow and always.

1971-the first or second Cursillo- Al was praying about how he would meet the needs of so many participants when he overheard me quote Psalm 50:10 in discussion with Glenyce Schemer, "I have a wealthy father, he owns all the cattle on a thousand hills," a short time later he called me to ask what I thought abput his taking a call to my hometown, Northwood, Iowa. I knew the community would love him and they did. He said he kept the altar bible open to Ps 50:10 where the following verse is, "I will accept no bull from this house." Al and his wife were cherished friends

Dear Helen and family, I think back to high school days when Allen and Helen were already a two-some. All through the years both of you have given back, sharing your love for each other and for God. From Parsonage to Prison ministry Allen left his mark on so many. We grieve with you and we also give thanks for Allen's courageous faith. Rosalie and Ken Grosch
