Andy Michael DeMotto, age 99 years, a resident of Coalton, WV departed this life late Monday evening, November 23, 2015 at the Davis Memorial Hospital at Elkins, WV. He had been in declining health for the past six months. He was born Saturday, January 15, 1916 at Albert, WV a son of the late Andrea-Andrew "Andy" and Bambina Amelia Mastroguiseppe DeMotto. He had never married. Surviving are one brother, Tony Roger DeMotto of Coalton and more recently of Bridgeport; several nieces and nephews and a special friend and caretaker, David Sturdivant and wife Nancy of Beverly. Preceding him in death are six brothers, Gus "Sunday", Joe, James "Jimmy", Carlo, Fred, and his twin brother, Antonio DeMotto; and three sisters, Helen Elaine Rossi, Minnie Vince, and Amelia Reily. He attended the Coalton 12 Year School, had worked for B. F. Goodrich at Akron, OH, worked for the DeMotto Coal Company at Norton and later as a custodian for the Randolph County Board of Education. He was a member of Saint Patrick's Catholic Church at Coalton and enjoyed gardening. The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 to 8 PM, Sunday. On Sunday, at 7 PM, at the funeral home, a wake service will be recited by the Very Rev. Donald X. Higgs, VF. On Monday, November 30, 2015 Mr. DeMotto will be moved to the Saint Patrick's Catholic Church at Coalton, WV where the Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM. The Very Rev. Donald X. Higgs, VF will be the Presider and interment will follow at the Saint Brendan Cemetery at Elkins, WV.
