It was great to see Johnny. He was always such a kind, fun, intelligent, and interesting man to converse with. He greeted us with warmth, and gave us drinks and gingersnap cookies while we visited, talked about memories and caught up on life. We had fun playing with the cats and visiting with Johnny. As we left, he sent us off with a brand new container of gingersnap cookies for us to enjoy. He enjoyed our visit so much, and was so happy to see us. He pleaded for us to come back for Christmas. Unfortunately, COVID struck and we were unable to return. But it was great to visit Johnny and bring back the memories of Anna while we were there. God Bless the Della Monica family and Rest In Heaven's Peace Anna.

In life, you were loved you dearly, in death you are loved still. In our hearts you will always hold a place, no one else will ever fill.

I knew Anna through my Mother Dorene. They were great friends for the longest time. I remember her as being a very eccentric and unique person. My friends always got a kick out of her and loved seeing her whenever she was around. People were always fascinated by her. The way she dressed was so mysterious and dignified in her own unique style. She and my Mother traveled to Italy together with Anna's daughter Jonna. I can remember visiting her house with my parents when I was going, walking in and having the delicious smells of Italian cooking infiltrating the house. As a boy, the way the home was decorated was memorizing. The old victorian, almost medieval church feel. I remember going back to the home with my Mother more recently, and Anna feeding us some Italian food she had just cooked. After my Mother moved to Florida, Anna and her would write from time to time. But sadly, it wasn't the same as when they were close together. Anna was an extraordinary piano player, and could play beautifully. Thus why after many failed attempts with piano teachers, my Mother asked Anna to take on the monumental task of teaching me. It was difficult for me to learn, and I wanted to learn so badly, because my Father could play by ear, and I loved the piano. Anna tried her hardest, and was seemingly getting frustrated I could tell. But it was enjoyable nonetheless to have her as my teacher and be there at her piano. Around three years ago, my Son Michael and I went back to visit Della Monica's. Finding sadly only Johnny to be there. Vittora answered the door, and she told us Johnny was finishing up a shower, and wanted very much to see us. So we waited for him to come down.....
