“BARBARA E. JIKOMES� Our beloved mother, Barbara Elaine Zampini Jikomes, 74 of Charlottesville, went home be with the Lord January 9, 2010. She was born September 15, 1935, the daughter of the late William M. and Clara M. Roark. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James S. Jikomes; a daughter, Virginia Zampini; three brothers, John, James and Randy Roark; a grandson, Joey Quade; a great granddaughter, Imani Douglas and a son-in-law, Richard Dewey. She is survived by five children, Debra Deane and her husband Buddy, Rhonda Quade and her husband Joe, William Zampini, III, Clara Dewey and Fannie Breeden and her husband Joe; two sisters, Mary Hurlburt of Bosque, New Mexico and Helen Ford of Charlottesville; a brother, Jack Roark of Charlottesville, one aunt, Gladys Thompson of Charlottesville; eighteen grandchildren; twenty five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. While Barbara worked many jobs throughout her life, her most important was caring for her family. She was a life-long resident of Charlottesville and graduated from Lane High School in 1954. She was a passionate gardener who loved her flowers. Her dreams where only to see her flowers bloom in the spring. “Mom, we will see you in each of them�. Barbara’s children will forever remember their mother calling out to them “Debbie, Ronnie, Bill, Darlene, Pam…� all in one breath. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Teague Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Holly Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911.
