We were out of town and just found out of Fr. Bob's passing. Fr. Bob baptized all 3 of our children, and became a personal friend of ours. We shared dinners, and time at the gym together. When he had knee replacement a couple years ago, he was at Lourdes rehab center with his room next to my moms. So we got to visit everyday for awhile. He was a great man of God, and full of wisdom. I am sorry we were not here. We loved Fr. Bob and he will never be forgotten. Surely he's with God the Father whom he served faithfully. "Well down Good and faithful servant" Love, The Hitchcock family, Dave, Sylvia, Dylan, Anthony, and Hannah

Father Bob would occasionally pop up at our house in Charlevoix to visit our mom, his cousin Barbara. The first time he came on his motorcycle. My dad wondered which one of us kids knew this helmeted man. When he took off his helmet, my mom just started laughing. I remember laughter whenever he came to visit. My mom always appreciated his stopping by -even though she remembered how he liked to pull on her pigtails when they were children!

My family has fond memories of growing up and attending St. Dans with Fr. Bob as the Pastor. He baptized 2 of my 3 children and my oldest made her First Holy Communion at St. Dans. So very sad to hear he passed away. May perpetual light shine upon him and may he be granted eternal rest in Heaven. Prayers for his family and friends.

Father Bob was a wonderful part of my family growing up in Union Lake when he was at St. Patricks. My mother worked with him and he became a part of our family over the years. I know he is by God's side as he was the kindest and most giving person all his life and a wonderful priest to so many.

I remember Fr. Bob from my days as a student at Visitation High School. He would always greet you with his beautiful smile. I always looked up to him (literally). Tall in stature and a wonderful laugh. We will smile again. Goodbye, my friend.

Fr. Humitz talks to "The Boys" in the 66 Visitation yearbook. As one I got a chuckle out of that. Yes The Boys stay in touch and see each other when we can.

Many great memories in collaborating with Fr. Bob on his book about being a chaplain at the Olympics in Salt Lake. He would sit at our kitchen table and share his stories. Rest in peace Bob, you are in my prayers.

Msgr. Bob was a pleasure to serve with. I didn't meet him until he had achieved Senior Priest status, but was well aware of who he was. Listening to him tell stories about the olympics was a real treat. May he rest in peace. prayers for all of his family and friends and for him.

I met Father Bob when God blessed me with the opportunity to work for him at The Archdiocese of Detroit Office of Television and during my time there we became good friends. He was always kind and appreciative to all of us and those were some of the best times of my entire career. He fought the good fight of faith and now has gone home to be with the Lord who will say to him "Well done thou good and faithful servant."

I met Fr. Bob when he was teaching a Bible Study class and he brought me to understand and love my faith so much more. Worked with him at St. Pat's and found him to be not only very knowledgeable but so caring and understanding. What a great man and shepherd to the people. I am sure the angels greeted him with open arms.

Fr Bob was a giant in the priesthood of Jesus Christ. He was a theologian if exceptional ability who though Gods grace lived the blessings and grace of the Second Vatican Council In way he pastored & shephered the people God entrusted to his care. He was a man who lived Lumen gentium & Gaudium et Spes. He now lives the blessings and fruit of his labor in the Lords vineyard. He will be greatly missed

An incredible communicator, Father Bob always knew what to say to those that were grieving, looking for the next challenge, or just needed a kind word. Great with computers and technology, he helped others with video, was an early adopter of converged communications, and published several excellent books and many articles, amid his many other accomplishments.

Best wishes to family and friends, and Rest in Peace, Father Bob.
