Boonville - Carol (Pfendler) Douque, 63, a native and lifelong resident of Boonville, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2009, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare in New Hartford. She was born on June 6, 1945, a daughter of Walter T. and Edith Roberts Pfendler. Carol graduated from Boonville Central School with the Class of 1963, and thereafter attended nursing school. Carol loved the hours she spent helping her friend and cousin Barbara Ferris at Creekside Gift & Antique Shop near Boonville. She also served as a volunteer at the Boonville Presbyterian Church Christmas Bazaar and at church rummage sales. For many years she volunteered at the Woodsmen's Field Days, and in the operation of the Boonville Oneida County Fair Exhibit Hall during fair week. She enjoyed playing her piano, caring for her pets, watching classic movies and the adventure of a good novel. She is survived by her devoted son, Tony Douque of Boonville; two loving sisters, Phyllis Pfendler and Mary Louise Witt, both of Boonville; a brother and sister-in-law, Jerome and Kathy Pfendler of Clinton; a nephew and his wife, Mike and Mary Witt, and their daughter, Makayla of Alexandria Bay; two nieces, Erin and Lauren Pfendler of Clinton; and a companion, Bill Douque. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Thursday, May 21, at 1:00 p.m. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to The Regional Cancer Center of Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, 1676 Sunset Ave. Utica, NY 13502.
