This is indeed quite a surprise, to say the least. Fondest memories are of transcribing 'Back to Eden' by hand for him and hearing him ask the coconut water vendor for one with 'light jelly.' To his family and friends I pray that God's peace will see you through at this time. May his soul rest in peace.

It was with much surprise that I learned on November 5, 2016 of Cecil's passing. It is sad to learn of the passing of someone who held many positions in his life. The most recent I am told as Bishop Cecil Mercurius. To those who knew him well he was Cecil Kenrick Sharples Mercurius a/k Brev. He was someone who loved Buxton, East Coast Demerara very much. He dedicated much of his life to Public Service. To his family and friends sincere condolences and know that he is a believer and is now at rest in the arms of the Lord.
