Charles Trolin Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 12, 2005.
Charles K. Trolin Chuck/Slim Charles K. Trolin, passed away peacefully at the home of his sister Billie Downey on November 12, 2005; born January 6, 1924 in Eugene, Oregon to Dorothy Belville Trolin & Alvin A. Trolin. Grew up in Blackfoot, Idaho and Salt Lake. Proudly served his country in the US Navy with the Air Transport Squadrons #4, 10 & 12 during WWII. Chuck married Bonnie Moore; later divorced. Then married Armetta, who passed before him. Chuck worked for Interstate Brick Co. for 30 years until his retirement. As a young boy on the farm he loved horses and fishing then grew to love bowling, dancing & was very well known for his game of pool. He was known as Slim to his 9-ball buddies and taught his skill & passion for the game to his niece Trish, who he always quoted If you cant play with a crooked house stick; you aint worth squat! Chuck also loved going to Wendover and made sure he got one last trip in 6 days before he went home to be with Armetta; his wife who he missed terribly. Chuck always made sure everyone was taken care of, happy & loved. He cared so much for his baby sis Billie that he took her along on his dates when she was young to keep her safe from her older siblings and the usual teasing and rivalry. Chuck was very much loved and will be missed by his family and many friends. Chuck is survived by his baby sis Billie Downey, daughter Charlene, grandchildren, nieces & nephews and one special niece Patricia (Tod) Bertlshofer. Preceded in death by parents, wife Armetta, brother Arnold Trolin, Sister Doris Whittaker Lenke. Billie would like to thank the VA Hospital, Dr. Anna Beck, CNS Hospice; particularly his nurses Karen & Jennifer who took such good care of Chuck. He thought the world of them. At his request he will be cremated and set free at his tree near Wendover. There will be a service at Deseret Mortuary, 36 East 700 South, on Friday November 18th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Shriner's Hospital in Charles name.
