So sorry to hear about the loss of Aunt Gini. She was a remarkable, kind, caring and loving person who embraced life and provided unselfishly for others. I was so blessed that when we visited Chassell we knew that Aunt Gini would welcome us with open arms and regularly take all of us to Sunshine Beach. How she managed to get all the chores completed, pack individual lunches for everyone and take us to the beach was an amazing feat but without fail Aunt Gini did. She also would have a supper prepared for the entire family when Uncle Walter arrived home from work. I can still hear her laugh and see her preparing food in the kitchen. One time we had a corn eating contest at Aunt Ginis house. Aunt Gini had an enormous pot with tons of corn in it. She placed the pot on the kitchen table and then we all started eating. I lost the contest and with an upset stomach headed back to my Grandmothers house. I didnt make it pass the hill when I threw up. Aunt Gini noticed I was sick and came outside and escorted me into the living room. She brought me a cool cloth and had me lay down on the couch. She was so sweet and sympathetic. Eventually my brother Frank and Pierre came up the hill and asked Who threw the corn flakes all over the hill? When Uncle Walter came home I was still laying down on the couch being tended by Aunt Gini. Uncle Walter asked,Whats the matter with her? Aunt GIni explained that I got sick from the corn eating contest. Typical Uncle Walts response, Since she ate like a pig she deserves to get sick like a pig! Aunt Gini told him to go eat his supper and let me rest. Heaven now has another saint but the memories of Aunt Gini will last a lifetime.
