David R. McHowell

David R. McHowell, age 79, of Roslindale, formerly of Walpole, Dedham, and South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, in the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. Born on May 29, 1939, he was the son of the late Albert and Gertrude (Rogers) McHowell. After graduating from high school, David proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. David spent most of his working career as a self employed carpenter, retiring in 2004. He was the Past Master Councilor of Dedham Order of DeMolay and was a former member of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks 1124 in Norwood. Life Partner of Dorothy Spellman of Roslindale. Loving father of Elinor and her husband Warren Painter of Bridgewater, William McHowell and his partner Michelle of Stoughton, the late Scott D. McHowell, also leaves behind Dotty's daughter's, Kerrie Ann of Boston and Cyndi Marie of Dedham. Cherished grandfather of 8 and great grandfather of 1. Devoted son of the late Albert and Gertrude (Rogers) McHowell. Brother of the late Robert H. McHowell. All services are private at the request of David's family. Arrangements by James H.
