Diana P. Besante Diana P. Besante, age 68, of Elkton, MD, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 8, 2013, after a courageous battle with lung cancer for more than one year. Born in Elkton on July 27, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Helen Lively Schneiders. Mrs. Besante was a hairdresser for most of her life. For the last 17 years, she was the office manager for National HVAC Service, New Castle, DE. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Elkton. In her spare time, Mrs. Besante enjoyed reading and word search puzzles. She was an avid fan of the Baltimore Ravens, HGTV, General Hospital and white orchids. Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 49 years, Robert J. Besante, Sr.; two daughters, Dawn L. Wolf and husband, Kris, Middletown, DE, and Suzanne B. McCraw, Elkton, MD; son, Robert J. Besante, Jr., and companion, Amy Stanton, Bel Air, MD; grandchildren, Vanessa Armour, Adam and Austin Snyder, Jimmy McCraw and Robert J. Besante, III; sister, Judy Deaver, Elkton, MD; brother, Edwin Schneiders, Elkton, MD; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Besante was preceded in death by her two brothers. Prayer service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton St., Elkton, MD 21921, where visitation will begin at 12 Noon. Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Cherry Hill, MD. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Union Hospital Cancer Center, in care of the funeral home.
