Dietrich Johann Max Vagt

Dietrich Johann Max Vagt, 93 of Middleburg Heights, Ohio passed away peacefully on January 5, 2021. Born in Bremen, Germany to the late Georg and Hertha (Sievers) Vagt. Dieter was happily married to his late wife Helene (Birk) for over 62 years. He loved his family and was the proud father of Peter (Marie) of Strongsville, OH and Thomas (Carol) of Plano, TX; grandfather (Opa) of Lauren Vagt of Nashville, TN and Krista Vagt of Akron, OH. He is also survived by his sister Ingrid (Vagt) Mez of Freiburg, Germany, nephew, niece and many cherished friends. Dieter obtained his Master Mechanics diploma in Germany before moving to the United States as a tool and die maker. He later became a well-respected tool and die designer and started is own business DV Design Inc., which he owned and operated for over 30 years. He was a member of the men's German singing group The Cleveland Bayerischer Maennerchor and was a past board member of non-profit Altenheim Senior Living – Strongsville, OH. Dieter enjoyed traveling, spending time on his computer, and working on his model trains. The family will receive friends from 11:30AM-12:30PM, Monday, January 11 at Busch Funeral Home, 7501 Ridge Rd, Parma. Funeral services will immediately follow after and burial will take place at Woodvale Cemetery, Middleburg Heights. Memorials are preferred to Altenheim Senior Living – Strongsville, Ohio.
