Doris V. Shivy

Iron Mountain - Doris V. Shivy, 82, of Iron Mountain, died Weds. Feb. 21, 2007 at Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center in Crystal River, FL. She was born on Jan. 23, 1925 in Metropolitan, the daughter of the late Jacob and Louise (Blomquist) Wickman. Doris graduated from Felch High School. She worked for Doctor Schmutzler. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and its quilting group. Doris enjoyed watching the ducks on Crystal Lake, doing crosswords puzzles and dining out. She spent her winters in Homosassa, Fl. She married John H. Shivy on Oct. 24, 1942 in Kingsford. He preceded her in death in 1981. Doris is survived by one daughter Lorna (Randy) Dahlke of Redmond, OR, two sons Randy (Barbara) Shivy of Hope Mills, NC, and Arthur Shivy of Homosassa, Fl, one sister Verna Gaynor of Sacramento, CA, seven grandchildren, one great grandson, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers Chester, Leo, and Ernest Wickman, and two sisters Edna Rutberg and Beatrice Dillenbeck. Visitation will be Tues. from 10am-12 noon at First Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be Tues. at 12noon at the church. Rev. James Chinery will officiate. Burial will be in the Felch Cemetery.
