Edna Mailom Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 4, 2013.
It cannot get better than this -- she was born on Christmas Day, she left us on the 4th of July. That is how big she was all her life. She was no Hollywood star, but her entire being was bigger than the Oscars, Grammys, and Famas all combined. Edna adored and loved by many, she was the constant life of all parties, would have easily won a public office by a landslide because of her cheerful, congenial and charming disposition in life. From her signature infectious laughter like no other (ie, she was one of the inspirations behind the invention of the megaphone), to her delectable Filipino gastronomic wonders (ie, she could have given Paula Deen a good competition), to her top-notch dancing skills (ie, a frustrated competitor at Dancing with the Stars), Edna was a jack of all trades. But beyond all these affirming words, Edna was a friend, an aunt, a sister, a daughter, a partner and a wife, and foremost -- a mother. Her biggest accomplishment of all, without a doubt, is that she has lived her life to the best of her ability, always preceded and guided by her strong faith to the good and benevolent Lord. She surely designed her existence brilliantly, bursting with a palette of colors, and with each stroke of success she has garnered, her life was nothing but a true and a beautiful masterpiece! Edna is survived by her beloved children, Marvin, Sherylle, Martin and granddaughter Basille Claire. HE ONLY TAKES THE BEST God saw that she was getting tired, He put his arm around her and whispered "Come with me." With tearful eyes we watched her suffer and saw her fade away. Although we loved her dearly we could not make her stay. A golden heart stopped beating, A small frail hand was put to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best!
