Eunice Langrum Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 26, 2013.
On Saturday, January 26, 2013, the Angel of Death touched and sealed the lips of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Eunice Faye "Tad" Langrum. In that same touch, the Angel of Peace led her to higher grounds, where she will forever be at rest in the Lord. Eunice was born November 1, 1926, in Daingerfield, Texas, to the parentage of Sweet Marie and Ernest Reid. She graduated from Joseph J. Rhoades High School. She moved to Dallas and married the love of her life, J. W. Langrum (married for over 54 years), raised three sons, James Ronald, William Paul and Rickey Joe, and two daughters, Shirley Ann and Sheila Levette. Her church life included Arlington Park First Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Pastor H. W. Bell. In 1987, Mother Langrum joined Full Gospel 1st Missionary Baptist Church (now The Ark Church), where she was a faithful servant, charter member and a Mother of the Church. Eunice worked as a caregiver for Ross Perot and his family, then later went on to work for Bill and Marilyn Lenox to help care for their son, Matthew. "Granny" as she was known to many, loved the Lord, her family, her Bishop and church, and her friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sweet Marie and Ernest Reid; husband, J.W. Langrum; two brothers, Buddy and Charles Reid; son, James Ronald Hodge; granddaughter, Kimana "KeKe" Langrum; grandson, David Hurd; two special friends, Leotha Polk and Daisy Moore. She leaves to celebrate and cherish her life, her children, William Paul Langrum, Sr., Rickey Joe Langrum, Shirley Ann Hornsby (Ardis), Sheila Levette Okafor; grandchildren, Jimmy (Kathy), Valerie, Joseph, Melanya, William, Karen (David), Aisha, Kim (Shon), Ja'Netta, Byron (Daria), Matthew, Tyler, Tammie, Demitri (Harold), Derrick, Traqueva; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her sister, Verma Russell; sisters-in-law, Dorothy McCoy and Sonya Reid, brother in law Curtis Langrum, a special friend, Ms. Uthia Harrison; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
