So sad to learn of Fred's passing. Almost 55 years of knowing him. Our birthdays were just one day apart. Every year Fred would call me on July 29 to wish me a happy birthday. Many years went by before I told him that mine was the day after his (31) not the day before. Maybe 25 years of birthday wishes on the wrong day.
I'll miss you, my friend. I wondered why you didn't call me this year on my birthday. Now I now. I had no idea you were gone. You were my oldest living friend. I'm so glad I got to see you last year. To see your new car. To see your face. I didn't know it would be the last time. Sleep well Mister!

So sorry to see the loss of your father, Torrie... Time has gone by so fast, I have to say it was good to see pictures of you in this video too.

What can I say about Fred? I love the video...but where are the Hawaiian shirts? I met Fred in the early 80's. We would hang out at Kevin's every Friday for cruise night. We would go riding...yea! the good old days before helmets. We both had the same favorite song..."Youngblood". Fred was always smiling and laughing. I had a customer, Tom Azzari, who turned out to be an old studio friend of Fred ( small world ). One of my favorite memories was Hands Across America. Fred had signed up for it and asked if I wanted to go with him. We ended up somewhere near the studio..thousands of people holding hands and just happy to be alive. I never heard if the event covered the entire country, but there were thousands at our location spreading peace, joy and love. I think of the Hard Times car club with their 50's dances. Fred was in a skit set to "Splish Splash"...shower cap and towel. He was horrified to find out I'd taken pictures, relieved when I got somebody elses by mistake, then mortified to think a total stranger had the photos! Fred was a unique person and I am honored to call him my friend. See you on the road. "FELIX"

Fred was a unique man! Always a pleasure to be around , even though he might not always show up. But, when he did, he kept you laughing. He remembered all of the funny things my husband and he did, many of which my husband had long forgotten. This for me, was like reliving all of their great adventures that I would never have known about.
He had a heart of gold, one time we asked him to borrow a couple of Hawaiian shirts for an Edelbrock picnic. He delivered two huge boxes of properly folded shirts from which to choose.
We loved seeing him with his faithful pal, "Jasper", driving through "Bob's Boy drive in" his new mustang convertable.
It seemed he always ended up selling his street rods for less than he paid, even though he did lots of restoration work. That was "Fred".
We will miss him so much, but, so pleased to have had the pleasure of having him in our lives.
Farewell to a fine friend!
