RIP, Gary.... He was a tremendous athlete, and I looked up to him a lot. We shared a Port HS basketball championship with both of us getting all conference honors and in top ten scoring in 1974. We also were on the same team to make it to state semifinals in 1973 in baseball. He was a free spirit with those wild red-white-blue wristbands, wild hair, and unstoppable hoops scoring ability. His football skills may have been the best, I believe earning a scholarship to UW Madison. Thighs like tree trunks, he had a huge physical advantage. We kicked some serious butt at good old Port High. Have wondered about him for so long, and condolences to Garys family. Peace!!! Dennis Weber
