Gerald Jay Berenbaum

Age 76, on Thursday, September 9, 2021, passed peacefully at his home in Bethel Park,PA. Beloved husband of Patti (Aiken) and the late Carla (Bloom). Dear father of Edward J. (Jennifer) Berenbaum, Lisa (Michael) Clarke, and Susan (Sean) Methven. Stepfather of Jennifer Laverick, and James (Sara) Laverick. Loving grandfather of Grant, Gaven, Jude, Sidney and Theodore Clarke, and Margaret and Isaac Berenbaum. Brother of Harriet (Jerome) Silberman and the late Beverly Misher, also survived by many nieces and nephews. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Penn State Universit and a Masters Degree from University of Massachusetts. He was a member of the Shriners, keeping his membership to honor his father. Gerald was a devoted father to his children, whom he raised by himself after the death of his first wife in 1985. He loved teaching and taxes. Gerald was a Professor of Accounting at Robert Morris University for 40 years, a Certified Public Accountant, and he taught review courses for the CPA exam. He was an avid football fan for Penn State and the Steelers. He loved art and traveling with his wife Patti. Yet, his happiest place was his home surrounded by his family, friends. Friends are invited to a Funeral Service Monday 1:00 p.m. in Temple Emanuel of South Hills, 1250 Bower Hill Rd., Pittsburgh 15243. Vaccinations and masks are required.
