I am so sad to hear about the passing of Fr. Jim. I just found out today. He is one of the first priests I got to know in Milwaukee. He was a kind and funny man. He was even in a Spanish class I taught for pastoral ministers. I will never forget him.

I knew Fr. Kimla from St Nicholas where he was a deacon and then ordained. He was a close friend of my family and a dear friend to me. Blessings to his family, friends, and Fr Dirks.

Father Jim was a big part of our family. He married us, baptized our three children, and supported us during challenging times. We enjoyed his sense of humor and friendship. We will miss him.
