Jeanne Stackhouse Landean was born March16, 1920 in Andalusia, Bensalem Township, PA, the daughter of the late Henrietta Wilson Stackhouse and Louis Welmer Stackhouse. She died March 19, 2010 in Charlottesville, VA. Jeanne was preceded in death by Linda J. Landean (daughter), Irving Woodrow Landean (husband) and Ruth L. O’Connell (daughter). She is survived by her siblings: Wilson Stackhouse, and Arnold Stackhouse his wife Elsie Stackhouse, daughter June L. Webb and her husband Leslie Webb, Jr., her son Louis N. Landean and his wife Jennie Landean. Grandchildren; Stephen (Rob) Tharp, and his wife Stephanie Tharp, Tracy Tedford, and her husband Rick Tedford, Robin Brown, Eric Landean, Hope Wilkins and her husband Heath Wilkins, and Ryan Payne. Great Grandchildren; Ashley Browne and her husband Chris Browne, Whitney Wade, Dustin Ham, Raechel Tedford, Kendra Tharp, Greyson Tharp, Trevor Tharp, Keegan Tharp, Jade Wilkins, Haley Wilkins, Hannah Wilkins, Heath Wilkins, Sydney Brown, Erin Brown, Alyssa Payne. Great Great Grandchildren; Owen Tharp and Grayson Browne. Jeanne Stackhouse Landean graduated valedictorian from Bensalem Township High School in 1938. Thereafter she attended Strayers Business School in Philadelphia. During her life she worked and retired from Bendix Corporation in MD, was active with the Girl Scouts, Salvation Army, Howard County, MD County Council, Parent Teachers Association, Reading for the Literacy Program in Fluvanna County, VA, Friends of the Library and an associate of the “Silver Bells� in Palmyra, VA. She was a member of the Savage United Methodist Church in Savage MD where she taught Sunday School and Bible School. She attended the United Methodist Church in Crozet, VA. and participated in church activities and volunteer programs. She was an independent individual, creative and excellent seamstress, loved US history, literature and was an advocate for education and reading. She especially enjoyed celebrating holidays, birthdays and family gatherings. Jeanne was a wonderful sister, a great Mother a special Grand Mother and a good friend to all. Her sprit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Services will be held at the Teague Funeral Home, 2260 Ivy Road, Charlottesville, VA on Saturday, March 27, 2010 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. The family will receive guests following the service at the home of Susan and Larry Clarke.
