Jeff & Jay, I am so sorry to hear of Jacks passing. I was watching channel 9 and his death was brought up between shows. I'm impressed and proud of his life's journey that I have just learned about.
You may not remember me, but I am a childhood friend of you and your family back in the 60's. Barbara Betz was your neighbor and we, Debbie, Vincie, Carol & Barbie were her great nieces. We played with you boys all the time, riding with you on your home made go carts.
We had so much fun and we treasure our memorable childhood with you and your family.
Putting that all aside, you have my deepest sympathy and I will pray for you and your family. ❤God bless you all.
Sincerely, Carol Pisciotta Cowell

Friends,
I am very sorry to hear of Jack's death. I came to know Jack well from my time at CPB, where we worked with Jack often. Jack was one of the most intelligent and thoughtful station managers I had the pleasure to come to know, and, as we got to know each other, Jack and I became friends. I feel so lucky to have had the chance to spend time with Jack at the PBS TechCon meeting during the first week of April. We talked about my daughter's research in Education and of all of his children, of whom he was very proud. Jack help me make the transition to retirement a few years ago, and we also spoke of his feelings about his own transition to retirement, which he saw coming on the horizon. I already miss Jack -- my condolences to all of you.

Jack was a very good friend and teammate in high school. We were two of the few North Siders who made the trek to Augustinian. We lost contact after college but recall a terrific dinner years ago in Oregon. Very glad we recently reconnected. Terrific business and community leader, but I know a greater husband, father and grandfather. RIP Jack.

We met Jack and his wife at a Taste & See event and then sat with them a few times after that. They were so lovely, warm, friendly and obviously loved each other very much. Jack shared stories with our group of his soccer days. We are so grateful that we were able to spend time with Jack and Rosemary those few nights. Our hearts go out to Rosemary and his family. May you find some comfort in your family, friends, faith and many happy memories.
