Visit the Fioritto Funeral Service website to view the full obituary.
Joseph DeIuliis, age 95, went home to our Lord on 8.19.2019 where he will be reunited with his siblings Margarite Corsetti (Marino), both deceased, Luke, deceased (Theresa), Anthony, deceased (Connie) and Loretta Fetko (George) both deceased, and parents George and Marie, both deceased. He leaves behind his loving wife of almost 73 years, Avis, four children: Edward (Cecelia), Anthony (Judy), Diane Conroy (Terry) and Jennifer Petras (Tim), five grandchildren: Toni Marie (Chad), Jeffrey, Brian (Jennifer), Michelle and Bethany (Brian), and four great grandsons: Connor, Brayden, Caleb and Wyatt. He also leaves behind his many cherished nieces and nephews and beloved extended family David Hanson and Diane Liberatore. A constant source of love, compassion, courage, wisdom and humility to his children and all those who had the good fortune to count him as a friend, neighbor or co-worker, Joe loved God, family, friends, church, this country, life, good food, family gatherings, laughter, music (especially Louis Prima and anything Big Band), the Lawrence Welk show, golfing, fishing and flying. Joe came to Cleveland from Nemacolin, PA in 1943 to find work after serving in the Army Airforce. While working at Graphite Bronze (Gould), he met the love of his life, Avis, who worked in the cafeteria. They married in 1946, started a family and moved to Lyndhurst in 1953 becoming founding members of St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church. Joe truly enjoyed being a mechanic throughout his entire working life. He owned and operated a Texaco service station in Collinwood for many years, leaving to work for The Cleveland Press until it closed and then at the Plain Dealer (Teamsters Local 473) until he retired. For many years he also enjoyed working part-time as a school bus driver for South Euclid/Lyndhurst city schools and for Hawkin & Beaumont Schools. He spent his retirement at home with Avis, living in the same home where they had raised their four children. When illness prevented him from driving, Joe spent summer days on a bench in his front yard talking to the many neighbors who walked their dogs past his home, offering water and treats to the dogs and friendly conversation to their owners. Joe was part of the greatest generation and will be forever missed by his family and all who knew and loved him. None better. Entombment All Souls Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to meet for Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 am Friday at St Paschal Baylon Church, where friends may call from 9:45 until beginning of mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Shriners Hospital of Cincinnati www.shrinershospitalcincinnati.org/

There are so many wonderful memories of being a neighbor of Joe's for over 50yrs. Joe was a real gentlemen and loved to sit on his bench outside watching life go by. He enjoyed when people walked by with their dogs that he even had a treat jar for the dogs and believe me, the dogs always remember that driveway. We both loved going to church at St Paschal's and sitting next to each other with my mom and Millie. I will truly miss Joe's presence but find peace knowing he will always be with us spiritually.
Rest in peace my friend.
