Joseph C. Masiulis Jr.

Joseph C. Masiulis, Jr. 69, of Burlington, husband of Marianne (Golas) Masiulis, passed away, Thursday, January 1, 2015. Born in New Haven, son of the late Joseph C. and Winifred (Walker) Masiulis, Sr. he was raised there and received his BS from the University of New Haven. He earned his Master's from Southern Connecticut State University in Special Education. He lived in Burlington 38 years and spent his teaching career in special education before retiring. He was a licensed real estate broker and was a former member of the Bristol Rotary Club. He was active as a soccer coach for his children's teams in Burlington. Besides his wife Marianne, he leaves a daughter Stacey Masiulis and her partner Joseph Fioretti of Burlington; a son Joseph C. Masiulis III and his wife Corrine of RI; a brother Edward of Woodbury; two sisters Marion Violano of Cheshire and Carol Carr of West Haven; two grandchildren Jordan Fioretti and Joseph C. Masiulis, IV; and a niece Courtney Brenton of Glastonbury. His family will receive friends Thursday, January 8, 2015 from 5-7 PM at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, January 9, 2015, 10 AM directly at the Church of St. Mary Star of the Sea, 145 Main Street, Unionville.
