Judith Rae DeLaughder, 81, of Topeka passed away on Friday, Dec. 2, 2011 at Aldersgate Village in Topeka. She was born April 17, 1930 in Glasglow, Montana the daughter of William Harold and Margaret A. (Dow) Dunnell. Judith had lived in Topeka since 1999. She was raised at Minot, N.D. one of four children. She graduated from high school in Minot, later attending and graduating from St. Hamlin College in St. Paul, MN. She attended graduate school in Nashville, TN. She was commissioned a deaconess in the Methodist Church in 1958. Judith was a director of Christian Education at Sioux Falls, S.D. She was a social worker at the Osawatiomie State Hospital from 1968 until 1975. She lived at Alta Vista, LaCgyne, Lawrence, Valley Falls and Riley where her husband had served as pastor at a United Methodist Church in those communities. Judith moved to California for several years and while living there, her husband Bill passed away. She returned to Topeka. She was a member of P.E.O. Chapter DF. She had been a member of First United Methodist Church before transferring her membership to Susanna Wesley United Methodist Church near Aldersgate. She was married to Rev. Bill DeLaughder in 1965. Bill preceded her in death on May 12, 1987. Survivors include her daughter, Kathy R. Clark of Independence, MO; grandchildren, Jennifer Muller, Michelle Clark and Brandy Clark; great-grandchildren, Ryan Muller and Brandon Muller and her sisters, Janet Combs of Denver and Jean Lowry of Charlottesville, VA.
