Lee Dauen

Lee J. Dauen, 60, of Sterling, died Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Rockford Memorial Hospital. Born July 3, 1955 in Sterling, he was a son of John E. and Lorraine (Dugan) Dauen. Lee owned and operated Lee's Excavating in Sterling for many years. He formerly served as captain with the Sterling Fire Department. Lee faithfully attended River Valley Church in Sterling. He enjoyed doing volunteer work for Firehouse Ministries, golfing and spending time with his family. Surviving are his daughter, Heather Dauen, of Sterling; and his two grandchildren, Markus and Julia Chavez. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Steven Dauen. Visitation will be from 9-10 AM Friday, October 2 at McDonald Funeral Home in Sterling. The funeral will follow at 10 AM with Pastor Nathan Wilkens, officiating.
